Beautiful activity, Hiking to Monte Abantos in Madrid, a trekking route through the surroundings of El Escorial that will take us to climb to the summit of one of the mythical peaks of Madrid. Also we can visit the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
Mount Abantos with 1,753 meters is not one of the most important mountains in the Community of Madrid due to its height, but due to its geographical and historical situation visiting it´s a truly gratifying experience.
Our Hiking to Monte Abantos in Madrid will take us to its top through a forest repopulated by the School of Forest Engineers at the end of the 19th century with non-native species, which over the times have made this corner of a great ecological value.
We will arrive at el Puerto del Malagón, as so many cyclists did in various Vueltas a España, to undertake the last stretch of ascent to the summit, from where we will have a privileged balcony to the entire Sierra de Guadarrama.
In the afternoon, as an optional activity, we can visit the Escorial Monastery, a monumental work ordered to be built by Felipe II at the end of the 16th century.

Program
We will be picked up at the meeting point established in Madrid and transferred by private vehicle to El Escorial. There we will start the hiking route that will take us to Monte Abantos discovering places of both botanical and historical importance.
The visit to the Escorial Monastery is optional.
The itinerary can be modified for any circumstance that the Guide considers appropriate.
