Things we love to discover! Benasque Trekking in the Pyrenees, will take us to discover Aigualluts and the Salvaguardia peak, a beautiful Balcony to the Glaciers.
Beautiful hiking days through the Ésera river valley, a trek through Benasque with 360º views of the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park. Benasque valley is famous for being one of the most beautiful examples of a glacial valley in which these still remain, falling from the highest peaks of this mountain range, such as the Aneto or the Maladetas.
We propose a route where we will start discovering the valley from inside, reaching the Forau de Aigualluts, a karst sink where the waters of the Ésera river disappear, a river that collects the waters of the Aneto. This first day we will also visit the Renclusa Hut, important because it is the one that mountaineers usually use to climb Aneto, Maladetas or Tuca de Alba.
The second day we will have more intensity on the Benasque Trekking in the Pyrenees. We will climb, between meadows and marmots, to the Port of Benasque, a pass between France and Spain that connected the villages of Benasque with Luchon in 3 stages. And if the conditions allow us, we will summit at one of the glacier balconies, Pico Salvaguardia (2,736m).
All this accompanied by the rest and relaxation that our accommodation in Llanos del Hospital offers us, where we will enjoy its restoration, Jacuzzi and steam baths.
Program
We will arrive in Benasque, after a stop to take the essentials. We will move to Llanos del Hospital to stay (depending on availability). The first day of Trekking through Benasque we will cross the Ésera Valley from Llanos reaching the Forau de Aigualluts.
On the second day of the Trekking we will go up to the Port of Benasque, a historical crossing point between France and Spain and from there we will calmly climb up to Pico Salvaguardia from where we will have spectacular views of the three thousand in the area, such as Aneto and Maladetas, Tuca de Alba, Mulleres or Posets.
